Shaftesbury Market Day & Salisbury 30th May 2024

Shaftesbury Market Day
& Salisbury
Thursday 30th May

Shaftesbury is a small market town in Dorset with a fascinating
history going back to Saxon times.

The town is the home of Gold Hill (made famous by the “Hovis” advert)
and has magnificent views over Thomas Hardy’s Blackmore Vale.

As a Saxon Hilltop Town, Shaftesbury has one of the most beautiful and commanding settings of any market town in England. Located on ancient trade routes, Shaftesbury has been a market centre for centuries and today we visit the Charter Market.

A Cathedral city of ageless beauty and captivating history, Salisbury has
been welcoming travellers since 1227.

At the city’s heart is Salisbury Cathedral, a beacon that has attracted visitors for centuries and continues to do so today. Gathered around the Cathedral is a modern medieval city, full of buildings crafted with the care of another age. Here history is brought to life by modern and original events, culture and activities.

Salisbury's historic streets are home to all your favourite stores, as well as independent retailers offering unusual items you won’t find on every high street.

We'll arrive back in Bristol around 7.30 pm
