Go behind the scenes to follow the journey of a coin from a blank
to a bank in the 45 minute Guided Factory Experience.

hot off the press. You’ll even have the opportunity to strike your own coin!

Discover the unexpected
wonder of coins
After your Factory Experience, wander at your own pace through the Interactive
Exhibition, discovering the incredible processes needed to make a coin.

Come face to face with British monarchs over the past 1,000 years: from Alfred the Great
on a silver penny to the five definitive portraits of Her Majesty The Queen.
Test your knowledge of the coins that have been made for countries around the
world, and find out why numismatists are captivated by coins.
Get up close to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic medals, and listen to the
stories of bravery rewarded with the UK’s gallantry and service medals.

After we leave the Royal Mint we will drop you at Cardiff Castle.

You will then have around 2 hours of free time in Cardiff.

Visit the Castle, shop or enjoy afternon refreshments in one of the many pubs, cafes or restaurants.
