Today we'll visit this World Famous 18th Century landscaped gardens and Palladian mansion

The coach will depart Bristol City Centre at 8.00 am, or you can

Wander around the enchanting temples and monuments placed around a tranquil lake. Walk the Fir Walk to the Obelisk or have a seat in the Grotto, or even speak to the Gods at the Temple of Apollo. Alternatively you can explore the Mansion filled with Georgian treasures, Chippendale furniture and fine paintings.

And once you have seen all you like, or as you explore, visit the restaurant,

A Day at the Races

Friday 24th September

Today we'll travel to Worcester Racecourse and spend a lovely afternoon watching the horses ride and hopefully winning!

We will travel up to Worcester and arrive in time for

lunch in this beautiful town

After lunch we will drive to the racecourse and the afternoon entertainment will begin. Soak up the atmosphere by roaming around, see the horses before you

Cockington village is hidden in a deep valley just far enough from the sea to be sheltered from the sea breezes but still enjoying the micro climate associated with the Devon coast

You can stroll among thatched cottages, beautiful gardens and tea shops and take a horse-drawn carriage to see the wonders of  the 450 acres of parkland

that surround the stately manor house with lakes originally built by the monks

from Torre Abbey. The village is now managed by the Torbay Coast

and Countryside Trust

In the centre of Cockington the thatched buildings include The Forge, one of the most photographed buildings in the country, dating from the 14th century. The oldest postcard featuring the village was of the Forge taken in the 1890's

There is a superb cafe with a balcony overlooking the sea, serving a range of light lunch meals and drinks. The gift shop is an Aladdin's Cave of fabulous presents just waiting to be taken home with you

 You can visit the Living Coasts penguins and seabirds under the huge net where they fly wild and free

 While strolling around the harbour do visit the 'Palace of Pleasure', the 1912 Pavilion which became known as The White Pavilion.

 When you feel ready for a Devon Cream Tea pop into Hoopers Department Store and go to the top floor where tea in a silver teapot and a view over the magnificent harbour will cost you no more than anywhere else
