This genuinely unique cruise from the heart of Exeter sails through two working locks and the Countess Weir Swing Bridge (stopping all Exeter road traffic while we pass through!) then down the delightful River Exe to the seaside town of Exmouth

  



  

  

The boat trip lasts approx two and a half hours and the vessel has both

inside and outside seating and toilets

You can spend a delightful afternoon watching the action on the river as the ferries cross back and forth and boats arrive from far off places. Dartmouth Castle can be reached by ferry

 

The town is crammed with interesting shops, narrow streets and marvellous places to eat. Whether it's a light lunch or a Devon Cream Tea it's easy to find in Dartmouth

You can take a boat trip to Dittisham, and to Dame Agatha Christie's family home, The Greenway Estate, which she bought in 1938 and where she wrote many of her famous novels

 

You have the choice to either stay in Dartmouth, and perhaps do the river trip or take the Steam Train to Paignton or stay on the coach for a scenic ride along to coast to Slapton Sands and Torcross

Today we'll travel to Worcester Racecourse and spend a lovely afternoon watching the horses ride and hopefully winning!

 You can visit the Living Coasts penguins and seabirds under the huge net where they fly wild and free


 While strolling around the harbour do visit the 'Palace of Pleasure', the 1912 Pavilion which became known as The White Pavilion.


 When you feel ready for a Devon Cream Tea pop into Hoopers Department Store and go to the top floor where tea in a silver teapot and a view over the magnificent harbour will cost you no more than anywhere else
